Indian Days

After two very long days of rodeo, I'm whupped, and too lazy to write a real blog post. Since a lot of my readers are also writers who ask questions about horse and rodeo stuff, I took a bunch of pictures that might help fill in the details when you're writing a western scene. Plus, I like to post pictures of as many family members and friends as possible, just for the embarrassment factor. And a few strangers who were just in the wrong place at the right time.

In my dreams.

Everybody loves a pickup man.

Some serious BS-ing.

Begging candy money from Grandpa.

Won't be taking home a trophy saddle this year.

Bulldoggers in waiting. Don't mess with the guy in the brown hat. Dang, is he strong.

Not usually a big fan of Paint horses, but this one was nice. And fast.

Cowgirl style: yellow tutu, black boots, and dad wrapped around your finger.

Where all those tough Indian ropers come from.

A little bling for the barrel horse.

What rodeo people mean when they say 'booted up'.

Do you ever come up to the Calgary Stampede?

Hey Kari,

One day, you will come back from one of these things, and I will be photographed with the bulldoggers. You'll write "Watch out for that girl in the brown hat. She's strong." One day. One day.

This was fun. Thanks for sharing.

The big rig in that first picture and it's trailer probably cost as much as new pool and hot tub.

Steena: I have never made it to the Stampede, mostly because we've always got rodeos of our own around that time and I've never had a barrel horse good enough to enter. Maybe next year, though.

Harley: I already tell people to watch out for you.

Susan: Did the hot tub and pool cost 200K? 'Cuz I'm guessing this rig was in that range.

Pictures! I love it. Black boots and a yellow tutu, that can't get any cuter.

Love the pictures. My favorite is Cowgirl style...tutu, boots, and dad wrapped around her finger. Brought a huge grin to my face! :)

Crystal & Cyndi: That's Josephine. She's got it going on.

Many thanks for all the pics. Wanted to get back to Montana this year, but timing was all wrong. Still have great memories of the Bucking Horse Sale in Miles City a couple years ago.

Ron: I've never made it to the Bucking Horse sale either. Probably because Miles City is eight hours from here. This is not a small state.
