Wet Behind the Ears

This is my first attempt at adding a video to the blog, so you may have to bear with me. It's a little dark, and a little long, and there's some annoying shaky parts where I was walking around. It was taken about half and hour after the first calf was born. The second calf was about twice as old. Amazing little buggers.

Good job! Cute babies. Loved mommy licking her new baby. So sweet.

You did well... I managed to talk through all my calving videos! I'm determined to get one where the cows are talking their "meh" baby talk to their calves... I love that...

Very good! The momma cows were sure keeping an eye on you! Looks a bit chilly there - cow breath and all. Marcia/WY

It's one of those times when an over-used and always wrongly-used word is appropriate - awesome.

Love this, Kari. Cows really are lovely creatures. Renews my (failed) determination to become a vegetarian.

It has to be a shock to your system, being ejected from a nice, warm womb into a cold, harsh world. Mamas & babies seem to be taking it right in stride, though. Ain't Mother Nature grand?

Thanks for sharing this peek into ranch life. :)

Wuv the babies. Aw. We used to have goat babies and lambs when I was growing up. I miss it so much.

Those mamas don't think much of you poking around with your camera, do they? :)

Congratulations on your first video blog, probably the first of many more to come. You have so much to share of life in Montana. :)
