Bah, Humbug

Driving home from work this week, I heard a radio ad pushing flat screen televisions for Valentine's Day. I changed the channel. I refuse to be badgered into spending hundreds of dollars observing a fake holiday. In fact, I refuse to be badgered into spending much of anything. Why the lousy attitude? Pop over to Everybody Needs a Little Romance to see why I say Please Don't Bring Me Flowers.

Hey! I'd love a 50" LED TV for Valentine's Day. My little problem is $$$$$$$$$$$$

I'm getting dinner out at a nice restaurant this year. Hubby has already made the reservations.

I went over to the link and it was so apropos. :)
Holidays can be a little too much pressure. This one - I just get the card. He does the rest.

Loved your post at Everybody Needs a Little Romance.

As for Valentine's Day & gifts: like I said at ENaLR. Chocolate. Nothing else matters. ;)

Kari, No new flat TV? I take it you won't be longing for Shari's Berries, a Pajamagram or a Vermont Teddy Bear for Valentines Day either.

I'm with you on this one. My husband and I don't even do cards. I figure when we want to go out to dinner, we'll go out. If we want flowers in the house, we'll buy flowers. Chocolate? I'm a stay-at-home mom of 4. Do you think a day goes by when I don't have chocolate (hidden) in my cupboards? Valentine's Day is just too staged start to finish. Where's the romance in that?
