Here We Go Again...

For the second Saturday in a row we are under a winter storm warning. In twelve hours, the temperature has dropped from twenty-five above to ten below, but so far we've only had a skiff of snow. Crossing our fingers that this one slips past, we are barely able to get in and out of here now. Another six inches of snow and we'll be well and truly stuck.

We're not real fashionistas around here at the best of times, but in weather like this style really falls by the wayside. Pop over to Everybody Needs a Little Romance for my post on being a Not So Pretty Woman.

"Hey. Quit messin' with the camera and let me in the dang barn!"

Addendum: (otherwise known as I tacked this on because someone asked.) That horse is not Roo. That is Doc. This is Roo:

I can't imagine why anyone would get them confused. ;)

Aww, look at the snow blankets!!

Amen to the 'country look' LOL. Most days I'm wearing muddy old wellies and a thrift-store XXL sweater that hangs to my knees, because when that gets filthy it's easy to just strip it off and dump it by the door on my way in. Don't even talk about the hair... ha! I'm off to follow the link: stay warm!

I could swear you lived in Calgary - our weather seems to coincide. -35 with the windchill is not fun.

Steena,

That would be because I'm only 150 miles from you, just across the border from Cardston.

Great shot. Is that Roo? The captioning fit perfectly. Heading over to read your guest post now. (Hugs)Indigo

Not Roo. Doc. And yes, I do get them mixed up quite frequently. The easiest way to tell them apart--the one getting his butt kicked is Roo. The one doing the kicking is Doc. Cranky little bugger.

brrr I'm with ya. Snowing hard here - northwest of you in bc. Just came in from feeding 70 horses, stripped the layers down to find pajamas and bed head still in tact! must do something about that as its Sunday and I don't have to go back outside until night feed. Met Janet Reid at SIWC a year ago, been following your blog ever since... love it . thanks.

Seventy! yikes. The only time we've ever had that many horses was our last year in South Dakota, when a friend's bucking string spent the winter in our feedlot because the snow was too deep in their winter pasture.

Which part of BC? I've been to Cranbrook and up through the Okanogan to Vernon. Gorgeous country

Seventy-six if you include the ones that only get hay! All thoroughbreds but for a few saddle horses and a donkey. Princeton, Hang a left after you cross the border at Oroville. Went to the Princeton Rodeo this year, first time I've ever seen the ladies roping... breakaway? cool.

Katt: We were near your neck of the woods quite often when we rodeoed in Washington. We usually went to Omak and Winthrop and Sedro Woolley and drove across the North Cascades highway a couple of times.

As for the breakway, yes, it is way cool. But I might be a little predjudiced. ;))
