It snowed for 3 days and nights. Luckily, our lifestyles were only slightly in danger. I had recess duty during one of the days and my ski patrol husband wasn't under the cliff when the avalanche came through.
LolaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951407630062872642.post-28089190457078286012009-04-18T13:00:00.000-06:002009-04-18T13:00:00.000-06:00Gina. We found calves without their mothers clear down by the old Herron place, three or four miles and two fences from where they'd started. Our cows were mixed with Hibbs' and Rumney's. They found strays here and there for most of the summer.

So glad this last storm slid south of us. With any luck, this will be the last of the year.Kari Lynn Dellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06864636462802149247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951407630062872642.post-14520522879433111902009-04-18T09:02:00.000-06:002009-04-18T09:02:00.000-06:00I remember a snowstorm in May a few years back. When they did, they found one little calf that was frozen in place, still standing up, in a snow bank. Poor little guy finally became too exhausted to move after plowing through the snow while the herd was drifting. When he stopped moving, he froze to death. That year, Glacier county lost over a $1 million in revenue from cattle that died in the blizzard.
